CHRISTIAN GROUP POSTS FACEBOOK VIDEO TO TARGET LGBTI PEOPLE WITH ‘GAY CURE’ PROPAGANDA

Anchored-North5_640x345_acf_cropped A Christian group has posted a video, titled Love is Love, in order to target LGBTI people with ‘gay cure’ propaganda.

Anchored North, an evangelist group, posted the expensively produced video starring an ‘ex-lesbian’.

The title Love is Love, and Pride flag-themed Facebook leader image, gives the impression it is a story that will tell a positive LGBTI story.

But it is actually propaganda encouraging other LGBTI people to click. The group wants them to think dangerous and harmful ‘conversion therapy’ is positive or even works.

Woman claims Christianity helped her to ‘renounce’ her lesbian ‘lifestyle’

The video stars a woman named Emily Thomes, who says she was engaged to a woman before she went to a Bible study class one evening.

She said Christianity helped her to ‘renounce’ the lesbian ‘lifestyle’.

‘I could not stop thinking, what if it is all true?’ she says in the video.

‘Are you sure this is who you are?’

She adds: People say to me all the time, “I was born this way.” I say, “Okay, me too. You’re not born with right affections..”

Later she says: ‘That’s why Jesus had to come. You feeling a desire for sin just proves you need grace like me.’

Thomes concludes by saying: ‘It’s not gay to straight. It’s lost to saved.’

Comments condemn harmful ‘gay cure’ video on Facebook

The video has been seen more than 1.3 million times on Facebook.

And due to it being targeted to LGBTI people, many of the comments are critical of its harmful message.

‘This little video is enough to push gay kids over the edge to suicide,’ one said.

Another said: ‘My heart breaks for this girl, being frightened into living a life she doesn’t want to live. So very sad. I hope one day she can be true to herself again.’

Others wanted LGBTI people to know they are loved.

‘This is bullshit,’ one said.

‘I bet if you put a naked Megan Fox in front of her she’d be on that faster than you can say Jesus. My God doesn’t judge. He doesn’t make mistakes. You love who you love.’

‘Gay cure’ propaganda group

Anchored North has previously stoked controversy by paying Facebook to spread their homophobic message.

Another ‘gay cure’ video, posted in February 2017, was targeted at adults in the US with an interest in ‘Gay Pride’.

It was taken down by Facebook for violating their advertising policies.

Facebook’s advertising policies restricts against illegal content (conversion therapy for minors is illegal in six US states and 11 cities) and must not contain discriminatory material based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

Conversion therapy does not work and any attempt to ‘cure’ your sexuality is considered widely harmful to a person’s mental and physical health. It has also been widely condemned by every mainstream health and psychiatry organization in the world.

Perhaps we should develop a “Christian Cure” video to promote truth and honesty. These evangelicals are a very strange and demented group when they get together. Naked hugs!

What we need is a cure from the disease that is Facebook (and one for Twitter too)
