I was in a committed relationship for 15 years, the last 9 of those we were married. We agreed to be monogamous from the get-go. Although I’d been in the middle of many 3 ways with gay couples previously (me as the play toy for them to use), I was honestly too insecure to share MY man with someone else.

Towards the end of his life, he had some serious heart issues, but I stuck by him because he was MY man. I could never have gone out – even if I had his blessing. It would have been disrespectful and I think it would have broken his heart.

I’m seeing someone now. I would like to be coupled up again, because I think I do better with someone than I do on my own. Not sure if this is the right guy, but we’ll see. I don’t put hopes and wishes on these things. If it’s meant to be, it will evolve and grow.

Other couples may have open relationships. If it works for them, that’s fine if they’ve discussed the rules and parameters of “extra-curricular” activity that’s allowed. It’s just not for me.
